Vertical Point Water Sampler
*General purpose water sampling of physical (temperature), chemical (dissolved gasses, nutrients, metals) and biological (photo-zooplankton) data
*Free-flushing, non-metalic sample containment
*Simple, sure-fire vertical release mechanism; multiple samplers on a single wire can be deployed for serial ("in-series") collection of water at various depths

Water Sampler Units Include:
-sample cylinder: standard volumes: 2.0, 5.0, and 8.0 liters; clear polycarbonate (92 mm I.D., 3 mm wall thickness) or PVC (95 mm I.D., 10 mm wall thickness) with UHMW end bushings; stainless steel tube weight (1.5 kg)
-armored thermometer (optional): mounted inside clear polycarbonate water samplers; available in C or F
-PVC drain and vent: 20 mm diameter; latex drain tube and pinch clamp
-internal closure: latex tubing (12.5 mm I.D.; 19.5 mm O.D.) with internal elastic "back-up" cord; Teflon coated stainless steel spring with Kevlar lanyards available at an additional cost
-solid rubber ball end seals: internal closure and arming cables are attached by threaded PVC fittings; all components easily serviced
-vertical release mechanism: Polyethylene and stainless steel construction; simple, spring loaded anvil-release pin provides easy sampler loading; built-in heavy duty handle; stainless steel cable clamps allow easy attachment of multiple samplers to a single wire (maximum diameter: 9 mm) for "in-series" deployments
-messenger: 333 gm cast bronze with stainless steel hardware, split messenger with hole for lanyard attachment

*Thin-layer sampling of physical (temperature), chemical (dissolved gasses, nutrients, metals) and biological (phyto-bacterioplankton) data
*Non-metalic sample containment
*Messenger activated horizontal release mechanism is easy to load; near bottom water recovery with bottom tripping assembly (optional)
-horizontal release mechanism: Polyethylene and stainless steel construction; simple, spring loaded release pins provides easy sampler loading and sure-fire operation; built-in heavy duty handle; single sampler attached to end of line

VERTICAL POINT WATER SAMPLERS, PVC CONSTRUCTION

PVC DISCRETE POINT WATER SAMPLERS: Horizontal or vertical orientation, opaque PVC and polyethylene construction, silicone end seals, heavy duty amber latex internal closure, stainless steel lanyards, simple-single-moving-part release mechanism, solid bronze messenger (300 gm), 20 m calibrated line (0.5 m increments), linereel, padded toolbox carry case, 2.2 liter capacity, complete, $255

bullet

Other sampler volumes available (complete, as above): 3.0 liter  ($275), 5.0 liter ($365) and 10 liter ($435)

bullet

Internally mounted thermometers with armored case (centigrade, -5 to 45 degrees, liquid spirt filled): $35.

Notes: Designed for general limnological uses and light sensitive studies of phytoplankton and bacterioplankton.  In-series sampling possible with vertical models and optional bronze split-messengers.  Horizontal models useful for thin layer or near bottom sampling.  Heavy-duty latex internal closure is easily tightened or replaced with a simple, “thread-on” assembly.

Horizontal or vertical orientation, clear polycarbonate and polyethylene construction, ultra-clean silicone end seals, heavy duty amber latex internal closure, stainless steel lanyards, simple-single-moving-part release mechanism, solid bronze messenger (300 gm), 20 m calibrated line (0.5 m increments), linereel, padded toolbox carry case, 2.2 liter capacity, complete, $285

Internally mounted thermometers with armored case (centigrade, -5 to 45 degrees, liquid spirt filled): $35.

bullet

Other sampler volumes available (complete, as above): 3.0 liter  ($315), 5.0 liter ($395) and 10 liter ($455)

Notes: Designed for general limnological use where sampler clarity is important (zooplankton collection, near bottom water recovery w/o contamination, hydrogen sulfide…). EPA approved for ultra-clean analysis of water.   In-series sampling possible with vertical models and optional bronze split-messengers.  Horizontal models useful for thin layer or near bottom sampling.  Horizontal samplers can be inverted and actuated with a sharp tug on towline with a “Toggle-Release” (above right, included).  This is very useful when deploying a sampler from a bridge where currents deflect the towline and the messenger can not effectively hit the release mechanism.  Heavy-duty latex internal closure is easily tightened or replaced with a simple “thread-on” assembly.
